Arti e Pensieri Association
The planning and management of all educational activities are handled by the Arti e Pensieri Association, which develops educational programs for children and adults combining research, scientific rigor, and cultural dissemination.
The Arts and Thoughts Association brings together professionals and researchers with expertise in various fields, from archaeology to art history, from architecture to restoration.
Its members consider cultural mediation and the dissemination of the results of their research as a mission.
Arti e Pensieri designs and manages educational projects for children and adults, disseminates scientific information, hosts conferences and conventions, and organizes museum installations (most recently, the Roman Section of the Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese in Piacenza). It also oversees the protection of archaeological excavations, training, the study and reproduction of ancient artisanal techniques, and the restoration, cataloging, and redevelopment of cultural sites.
It also designs and produces editorial products and exhibitions.
Micaela Bertuzzi
Archaeologist and founder of the Arti e Pensieri Association. I have collaborated for years with various museums, particularly the Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese in Piacenza, where, in addition to conservation and research activities, I helped launch the Archaeological Museum’s educational section.
For the Sguardi sull’Africa exhibition, I supervise the educational project and personally run the workshops!
Giulia Visalli
Having studied art at a high school and graduated in Cultural Heritage with a focus on archaeology, I have been working with Arti e Pensieri at the Palazzo Farnese Museums since 2017, specializing in museum education and graphic reconstruction of archaeological finds and structures.
I have had various teaching experiences in primary schools.
For this exhibition, I am leading artistic and educational workshops for schools and the public, designed in direct dialogue with the works on display.
Elisa Ponzi
Classicist archaeologist. For years, I have been involved in museum education and outreach activities for people of all ages.
I study archaeological contexts and finds.
For the exhibition, I lead workshops, particularly those aimed at citizens..
Raimondo Sassi
I specialized in Art History in 2006 at the University of Bologna’s Graduate School of Specialization. From 2007 to 2024, I worked at the Department of Prints and Drawings of the Uffizi Galleries on the Euploos project.
Since 2004, I have collaborated with the Civic Museums of Palazzo Farnese on museum education through the Arti e Pensieri association, of which I am a co-founder.
At the exhibition, I am primarily responsible for educational activities for schools.
Gloria Chiappin
I studied art at a high school and later earned a degree in archaeology, specializing in Archaeological Heritage.
I have been working in museum education since 2022, collaborating with various organizations in the Novara and Piacenza areas.
For the exhibition, I lead workshops for schools and the general public.
The sections of the exhibition
The exhibition was born from the encounter between Samuele Manin’s curatorial vision and the research and collecting work carried out by Paolo Giglio, together with his father Bruno Giglio.
The Sguardi sull’Africa project was also born as a gesture of gratitude towards the city of Piacenza.
Paolo and Bruno Giglio have chosen to share this heritage through a major public exhibition, recognizing Piacenza as a place capable of hosting and promoting a cultural project of international scope. In this sense, the exhibition is a gift to the city and its visitors, designed to foster knowledge, dialogue, and openness.
