Function and Interpretation: As in the previous case, the pulley was not only a technical component, but also an object charged with meaning. The figures carved on the Baule and Guro pulleys served as protective spirits, accompanying daily work and integrating the art of weaving into a belief system about fertility and social harmony. The small size (12 cm) is entirely consistent with this typology.
